Pākiki Kids is a weekly one-day programme for gifted children in Dunedin (Years 3-8).
Pākiki Kids is a local, independent gifted education programme which has been operating in Dunedin for more than 14 years. It is run by Dunedin North Intermediate School and located at 34 North Road, North East Valley, Dunedin. Pākiki Kids delivers a specialised curriculum while also offering gifted students the opportunity to learn with like-minded peers. Applications to Pākiki Kids Students are selected to attend Pākiki Kids based on the outcome of a written application and participation in a workshop. Gifted students from all schools are welcome to apply, as well those who are home-schooled. Pākiki Kids has only one intake per year (at the start of the school year in February) and the application process takes place in Terms 3-4 of the year before. Applications for 2026 Application packs for students to start attending the Pākiki Kids programme in 2026 are now available. The written application materials must be submitted by Wednesday 17 September 2025. The entry selection workshops for all applicants will take place next term (18 and 19 October 2025).
